HOSPITAL FIRE SYDNEY, August 12. Fire broke out at the Normanhurst private hospital in Sydney last night, elderly women and newly born babies being among the patients carried into the street to safety. The lire was put out. TIGER MOTH CRASHES BRISBANE, August 12. A Tiger Moth belonging to the Royal Queensland Aero Club, crashed and burst into flames. The pilot was trapped in the wreckage and killed, and the passenger, who was .thrown clear, is in a critical condition. The pilot, William Nissen, aged 24, was -the son of the president of the aero club, and was an experienced flyer. CANBERRA, Aug. 10. Applicants l for passages' to Australia on June 15 totalled 33,184 British residents in the United Kingdom, representing approximately 90,000 persons, including wives, families and dependants and 5212' aliens, mostly residents in Europe, representing approximately 14,000. persons.
