SANDERS CUP

AUCKLAND WINS SECOND RACE CHRISTCHURCH, January 29. Davina (Auckland), defender of the Sanders Cup, easily won the second race of the 1946 contest. Otago was second and Canterbury third. The race was sailed over a triangular course in a fresh easterly breeze. The finishing times were (the race started at 10 o’clock): Auckland, 12hr 22min 36sec; Otago, 12hr 23min 43 sec; Canterbury, 12hr 25min 40sec; South Canterbury, 12hr 27min 27sec; Wellington, 12hr 28min 2sec; Southland, 12hr 22min llsec. No race was sailed this afternoon, it having been decided that, in the event of Auckland winning this morning, the third race be sailed to-morrow morning.
