JAPAN-U.S.A. FLIGHT
SUPERFORTRESSES’ FUEL RUNS OUT. (Rec. 11.30). NEW YORK, Sept. 20. In the non-stop flight from Japan the three Superfortresses were forced to land at Chicago yesterday tor fuel. The planes had bucked strong head winds. They completed an estimated 5995 miles of the 6500 miles’ journey. The planes all landed within an hour of each other. They will proceed to Washington after refuelling.
