AGAINST THE FRENCH LONDON, June 27.

The Syrian and Lebanese Governments in the past two days have dismissed nearly 60 French experts and officials, including 40 in the Customs branch, says a Beirut message. Gaston le Due. Economic Adviser to the Lebanese Government, is among those who have been notified that their services are no longer required. The dismissals follow decision reached between the Syrian and Lebanese Governments. French Headquarters at Beirut announced that two attempts were made this mroning to assassinate the French delegate in Aleppo, Emile Gaugenot. A grenade was tossed into his garden, and then another was thrown at his car, wounding three Syrian civilians. Two British soldiers were slightly wounded in a shooting incident which occurred at Aleppo, says Reuter s Beirut correspondent. French troops are reported to have opened fire from the Commissioner’s house, fine British immediately requested the French officers to give the cease-fire order, but the firing continued from French barracks for one and a-half hours. The Syrians are reported to have opened fire on a French supply dump, but were dispersed. PARIS, June 27. General de Gaulle, in a personal letter to Lady Spears, denied he disbanded her ambulance unit, because of alleged incidents in an army parade in Paris. He stated that the Hat-field-Spears unit was disbanded, with six other volunteer ambulance units, under orders given on June 6. General de Gaulle said: “On numerous occasions I, myself, and the French authorities with whom you were attached publicly recognised the value of the services rendered by your unit. Once again I have pleasure in recording the importance and quality of your services.”
