HON. A. McLAGAN
LEADER OF LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL P.,A. WELLINGTON, Sept 26 The announcement that the Prime Minister had appointed him as Leader of the Legislative Council was made by Hon. A. McLagan m tne Council this afternoon. He appealed to members to, give him support in his new position which he said he was undertaking'With considerable diffidence. He would do his best to toilow the lines pursued by his predecessor. Hon. D. Wilson, and he trusted that the hapy relations which naa existed during Mr. Wilson’s term oi office would continue. Several members of the Council ottered Mr. McLagan congratulations on his appointment, and the comment was made that if Mr. McLagan handled the Council as he handled ms portfolio, everything would go smoothly. •
