SCHOOLS’ SEDDON SHIELD TOURNEY WEST COAST TEAM Further residents have offered on lets to visiting boys next week o-n tne occasion of the annual Rugby, football tourney of the Seddon fa hibld ’ tricts, in which over one .“Un players will take part, about eighty arriving on Monday from Buller, Marlborough, Nelson and Golden Bay districts. Yesterday’s Hokitika prin 2 a H school representatives held a tourney, at Victoria Park, the Hokitika seniors and Greymouth juniors being successful. Three basketball teams from each district also held a tourney. Following yesterday’s matches the following players have been selected for the West Coast team to take part in the tournament, commencing next Tuesdav morning:—A. McKenzie, R. Hickson, and G. Ha'loran (Reefton); N. Lynch, K. S. Stopforth, L. Roberts (Hokitika); A. Black (Grey Main School); G. Armstrong, J. Duggan and R. McCracken (Runanga); A. Burns, C. Burns, J. C. Laing, L. Ward, B. Haines (Greymouth Marist); D. Blight, B. Rawcliffe, M. Guthrie and J. Haydon (Cobden); A. Bergamini (Blaketown). Mr. R. R. King will coach the team, the members of which assembele next Monday at Victoria Park at 2 p.m., for practice. WESTPORT TEAM’S VISIT The first fifteen of the Westport Technical High School visited Greymouth yesterday to play their annual rugby fixture with the first fifteen of tlie Gerymouth Technical High School. In a good game, Grey, proved too superior and ran out victors by 20 points to 8. Three tries scored by J McKenzie (Greymouth) was the best effort .of any of the players. Cobden seniors: Lindbom, Hayes, Wright, Lawson, Hodgkinson, Keating, Olsen, Horrack, Mettrick, Marlev, Baynes, Watkin, Birchfield, Gilmour (2), Beardsley, Ryan, Krakosky Cobden thirds: Goodall, Cranna, George, Patterson, Mumm, Saunders, McDongall, Barrow, Brown (2), Hines, McLellan, Cameron, Ryan (2).
