U.S. POST-WAR POLICY
ROOSEVELT’S SOUNDINGS (Rec. 11.0) NEW YORK, Aug. 11. The “New York Times” says it learns Mr Roosevelt has invited Mr Wendell Willkie to confer with him after his return from his Pacific, trip concerning American foreign policies. Mr Roosevelt in his invitation, carefully dispelled any possible implica:ion of a partisan motive, making it clear the President did not desire to comoromise Mr Willkie’s position in the ’Presidential campaign, and adding that nothing relating to that campaign would be discussed. 'Mr Willkie has publicly disapproved of the Republican platform on foreign policy,, and so far has refrained from supporting Governor Dewey for the Presidency. It is understood Mr Willkie is only one of a number of persons whose views are being solicited regarding the " course America should follow after the war.
