AUSTRALIA’S .TEN THOUSAND (Rec. 0.30) SYDNEY, Aug. ll.y • Nearly ten thousand Australian girls have married American servicemen. Already 1,000 of these war brides and two hundred babies have left for the United States. Each baby as an American subject, travelled under its own passport. About 2000 more brides have submitted petitions for entry into the United States. The largest contingent, numbering 300 brides and seventy infants, left recently. They travelled on one of America’s fastest pre-war luxury lin6PS NEW YORK, Aug. 11 Twenty British wives and children of New Zealand servicemen have arrived at New York from England, en route to New Zealand.
