WOMEN’S HOSPITAL

AUCKLAND AGITATION NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 10. A protest against the Government’s inaction in fulfilling a promise to build a large women’s hospital at Auckland was voiced by Di* Doris Gordon at a large meeting of women field .at New Plymouth to-day to consider the population problem. Dr Gordon said that the Government recognised the need for a women’s hospital and she recalled the offer of a committee of citizens to raise the total sum necessary to endow the director’s salary. She said that ten months had gone by since th s offer was made to the Minister, and this huge endowment had received no mention in Parliament. Dr Gordon urged women to press the Government to capitalise this offer forthwith.
