As she left the dock the accused turned to the jury and said: “Thank you thank you very much,” .The trial lasted three days, and related toj the finding of the body of a «aked infant near the Main Trunk Railway on December 20 last. The accused, in. a statement to the police, said that the father of the child was an American serviceman. Ihe trial was heard before Mr. Justice Smith. Mr. N. R. Bain was the Crown Prosecutor, and the accused was represented by Mr. J Goldstine, Auckland.
