REEFTON NOTES

(Our Own Correspondent) REEFTON, Feb, 17. Miss K. Carmody of is visiting Reefton. Mr. P. J. Malloy of Christchurch has arrived on a short visit. Mrs. Hickey and Mrs. Beban, Greymouth, and Mr. James Beban, of the Greenmeadows Seminary, have been visiting friends in the district. Mrs. P. Byrdon and son have left on return to Wellington. Mr. W. J. Duff has received word that his son, lan, has been granted a commission in Canada. During the last few days County Council workmen have been engaged tar sealing the footpaths in Bridge, Church, and Walshe Streets, fl he paths already done show a decided improvement. Many people hope that the work will include other parts’ of the town. All ex-members of the Fire Brigade living in Reefton inave been asked to attend a meeting at the Fire Station on Friday at 7.30. Arrangements for the Jubilee are well in hand and it is necessary to - appoint committees to take charge ot the various engagements during the celebrations. The ladies’ committee has been.canvassing the town and so far has met a generous response. Miss K. Cohen, Reefton, has been appointed Local Agent for G. Webster, Umbrella ■ Maker. Greymouth. All orders and repair work left will be promptly and carefully attended to.—Advt.
