GENERAL MacARTHUR
Return to America REPORTED LIKELY IN MARCH. (Rec. 12.0.) NEW YORK, Dec. 21. The Washington correspondent of the “Indianapolis Star” says: General McArthur is making tentative plans to return to Washington next March for a series of conferences. LieutGeneral Kruger, the present Commander of the Sixth Army i s expected to take over General MacArthur’s command, if the contemplated trip is made. The “Indianapolis Star” quoting reliable persons who have returned from Australia, says: “Whether General will present his resignation to President Roosevelt and heed the ‘MacArthur for President’ movement, is not clear at nresent. but the importance of his proposed trip assumes greater proportions in view of the recent announcements concerning organisational plans of the ‘MacArthur for President’ faction of the Republician Party.”
