GERMANS WARNED
AGAINST EXECUTING WAR PRISONER. (Rec. 12.0.) LONDON, Dec. 21. The Algiers radio announced that Lieutenant, Masse, a son of General Masse, who was Resident General in Tunisia, will be executed by the Germans to-day. Lieutenant Masse is a prisoner of war who escaped and was recaptured. M. Henrv Frenav a former underground leader, now a member of . a prisoners’ delegation on the French National Committee of Liberation, broadcast a warning to the German Government that i£ Lieutenant Masse were executed, the committee reserved the right to take all necessary measures for the exemplary nunishment of all responsible for such a flagrant breach of international law. and humanitarian principles. M. Frenav pointed out that the Geneva Convention to which Germanv had subscribed, forbade the death sentence in the case of escaped prisoners of war. He offered to exchange a German officer for Lieut. Masse.
