WAR PENSIONS
[British Official Wireless], RUGBY, March 21
War disability pensions and allowances will be debated by the Commons on the next sitting day on a motion backed by members of all parties, who demand more adequate payments, and the establishment of independent appeal tribunals. The most controversial subject in the next series of sittings, writes a parliamentary correspondent will be the Catering Wage Bill. On the second reading this was carried by 283 votes to 116, but five opponents were Conservatives, who for the forthcoming committee stage put down nearly a hundred amendments.
