OFFICERS PROMOTED

N.Z. Forces P.A. WELLINGTON, Jan. 22. The following appointments and promotions of officers of the Second N.Z.E.F. were gazetted last night:— Major (Temp.) Lieut.-Col.) T. C. Wallace, to be Lieut.-Col.; Lieut.-Col. R. C. Queree, to be Colonel' (temporary), while employed as a General Staff Officer;’ first grade.' in a division. Sister H. M.. Hutchinson ceases to be seconded to Royal N.Z. Air Force and is appointed Assistant-Matron of a general hospital and granted the rank of Charge Sister. Col. C. M. Williamson, Central Infantry is appointed Officer Commanding Troops. N.Z. Maadi Camp, temporarily, in addition to his present appointment as Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster General of the New Zealand Division. The following appointments and promotions of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces were also gazetted last night:-—Major A. D. Copeland, Second N.Z.E.F.. is granted the acting rank of Lieut.-Col., while employed as a General Staff Officer, Second Grade. New Zealand Staff College. Major (temp.) W. R. Pigou, Second N.Z.E.F.. is granted the temporary rank of Lieut.-Col., and is appointed to command the Otago Mounted Rifles (Armoured Regiment).
