SPAIN’S MISSION

The Pope s Tribute LONDON, Dec. 20. According to a message from Rome, the Pope addressing the new Spanish Ambassador to the Vatican, Senor Dp las Barcenas, on the presentation of his credentials, said: “Spain is profoundly Catholic —the more so in that she has been able, to rise again .after the Red hurricane. Spain undoubtedly has a high mission to accomplish ini this culminating moment of world history.” The Pope sent good washes to the Spanish people and to General Franco. According to the Bishop of San Sebastian, in Spain, the Pope, in a message, described the Spanish leader, General Franco, as “the Holy See’s favourite son, and the most loved one among all the heads of State.”
