SOUTHLAND CURTAILMENT MATERIAL GOING TO NORTH ISLAND. P.A. INVERCARGILL, Jan. 19. A curtailment of building by restrictions on the issue Oi. permits has caused concern amon°- Invercargill builders. Representations have been made to Mr. W. M. C> Denham, 1V1.r., and to-day he sent the following xeiegram to the Minister of Pubna Works: “Stopping of ouilding activities has caused economic dislocation, and much anxiety among builders and allied trades here, penalising this district. Whilst 1 appreciate the' great problem that the Government is facing, I would like your assurance that the present drastic restrictions will be lifted at the earliest possible moment, and that this district will receive its fair share of building materials and work.”
