NORTH SOLOMONS
RAIDED BY MACARTHUR’S PLANES. (Rec. 10.40) LONDON, Oct. 7. In the past twenty-four hours, medium bombers of General MacArthur’s command, have attacked Japanese airfields in Buin and Buka in the northern Solomon Islands. The results at Buin were not observed. At Buka demolition and incendiary bombs were scattered over target v reas, scoring hits on runways and dispersal bays, adjacent buildings, and anti-aircraft positions, and also cansing fires and explosions.
