U.S. TRAINING PLANES

MADE OF PLASTIC MATERIAL. (Rec. 7.45) WASHINGTON, July 21. The War Department announced that successful test flights have been held with a new six-seater plane de- ■ signed specifically to train bomber crews, in which the body, wings ana tail are xnade entirely of plastic material called Duramold. The plane does not contain rivet-heads or exterior fastenings. The only metal and other strategic material used is for engine mounts, and cowlings. The purpose of the plane it to provide precision bombing practice otherwise which is obtainable only witn bombers themselves or with trainer planes heretofore constructed strategic materials which are now needed for bombers.
