The Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. P. Frasei’j announced /'ast jrq'ght that Mr Noel Coward, who recently visited the United States of America, and is now in Australia, will arrive in New Zealand on January 4. He will appear at concerts in the chief centres, the proceeds of which will go to the National Patriotic Fund. Mr Coward will also give several radio talks during his fortnight's stay.— Press Assn.

Advice has been received that Miss Audrey Tassell, a member of the staff of the Chief Post Office, Greymouth, has been successful in passing the Government intermediate examination for stenographers. The examination consisted of a live-min-ute shorthand test at 130 words per minute, as well as tests in typewriting and in confused manuscript. Miss Tasse'.l is a pupil' of th e Convent, of Mercy, Greymouth.

Fourteen of the sixteen New Zealanders who are undergoing an intensive course of military training at the Royal Military College of, Australia, at Duntroon, have arrived in New Zealand on leave.
