WEDDING

DEVLIN— The wedding took place at St Paul’s Methodist Church, Greyouth, of Esme, daughter of Mr C. J. Strongman and the late Mrs Strongman, of Greymouth, and Matthew, son of Mrs and the late Mr M. Devlin, Warrington, Dunedin. Rev. Mr Liversedge, of Christchurch, officiated and Mrs E. Parfitt was at the organ. Solos were sung by Mrs C, Woollett. The church was decorated by friends of the bride. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a’ frock of crushed strawberry silk crepella, with accessories to tone, and carried a bouquet of matching shades. Mrs F. Lindbom attended as matron of honour, wearing a frock of cyclamen riptide, with navy accessories. She carried a bouquet of cyclamen primula's and lily of the valley. Mr C. Woollett was best man. The reception was held at Harker’s reception rooms, the hostess being Mrs A. Harrison, junr., who wore a navy blue pin-stripe costume with fur sto;e, a navy hat, and a shoulder spray o;i daphne and orchids. She was assisted by the bridegroom's mother, who wore a navy edge-to-edge' coat over a frock of navy embossed georgette, with fur stole and a shoulder spray of freesias and cinerarias. Mr and Mrs M. Devlin left by the rail-car, for a’ tour of the South Island, the bride travelling in a Burgundy’ edge-to-edge coat over a crepe de chine floral frock with navy accessories.
