A most successful social evening, organised *by the Rapahoe School Committee, was enjoyed in the Rapahoe School last Saturday evening. The. function commenced with a euchre tournament, which was keenly contested by all players. Miss Barbara Stevens won the ladies’ prize, and Mr Eric Mundy the men’s. At the finish of play dancing commenced, to the excellent music of Mrs W. Spiers. Mrs D. Leach and Mr Jack Russell were winners of the Monte Camo. At intervals throughout the evening the gathering was enter tamed by popular local artists. Mrs Harry Smith and Mr Jack Russell sang, and Mrs J. McDonald recited. Their numbers were much applauded. The ladies were congratulated upon the excellence of the supper served, which rounded off a most enjoyable occaSl °Since the Rapahoe juniors joined forces with the Runanga juniors combined team have an . unb Series of victories. Their triumph was over Marist, whom defeated by the convincing score m 28 to 3 at Wingham Park last bun day This aggregation has th e Hidings of a first-class team.
