STEEL—--ROBINSON. X :. * A wedding ofVcpnsiderable interest to Greymouth residents took place at Christ Wanganui when Isohel only daughter bi Mr and Mrs A. H. Robinson was married to Reuben, younger son of Mr and Mrs D. Steel, Greymouth; ■■ The ceremony was performed by the Ven. Archdeacon J. R. Young, Mr-Wpniworth Slater playing the‘ wedding 5 music (says th? “Wanganui Herald”)/ ! r . The bride, wh 0 was escorted by her father, wore a gown of white chiffon mounted over satin, and fashioned in redihgote style. ’•'The satin skirt was banded with three rows of ribbon which finished in front with bows. The heart-shaped neck-line was trimmed ■with sprays of orange blossom. £J er veil of embroidered tulle, which was worn, over the- face when entering the church, fell insoft folds over the gbwn. A bouquet of pure white waterlilies' completed a .most attractive ensemble. : In attendance were two bridesmaids, Miss Edna Hutchison, of Timaru (chief), Miss Jo Purse, of Wellington, and a flower girl, Miss Jeanette Robinson, of Blenheim, niece of the bride They wore becoming frocks of mauve chiffon made dri-similar lines to that of the bride except that there were two rows of : ribbon on the skirts. instead of three. Coronets of mauveshaded stoclj, sweet peas and maidenhair fern were worn and their shower bouquets were of mauve and pink sweet peas, pink carnations, rosebuds, and. pink geberas. Mr Ivor Steel, Greymouth, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr lan Wallace was groomsman.
The reception was held at Foster’s Hotel, where the bride’s parents received the guests. Mrs Robinson was wearing a smart navy blue ensemble; the frock being patterned in clover shades, a navy blue Baku straw hat, arid she had’a bouquet of clover shades. ’CU!. , Mrs- Steel/mother. 'of the bridegroom, wore -a'’frock of beige embroidery lace/ a picture hat in nigger brown Baku straw and'she carried a bouquet of pansies and tiger lilies in red-brown shades. •When the bride and bridegroom later left by car for a tour of the North Island, the bride travelled in a frock of French maroCain in a bole-de-rose shade, navy blue \ edge-to-edge coat, georgette to match the frock. She also wore a silveri fox fur (the gift of the bridegroom) iand navy blue accessories; . <> .-. ...
