RAIN INTERFERES WITH PLAY. Yesterday’s heavy rain considerably interfered with post-section play in the West Coast bowling tournament. Play opened at 11 a.m., but was delayed early in the afternoon by heavy showers. Four rinks games and one pairs were played, partly in heavy rain. The remainder of the games are to be commenced at 8 o’clock this morning, and it is hoped to secure an early completion. Results of yesterday's games were: RINKS. J. Armstrong junr. (Runanga) 17, defeated D. Stevenson (Hokitika) 14. H. Ryan (Barrington) 25, defeated W. H. Warburton (Runanga) 22. W. Southward (Greymouth) 27, defeated W. Brown (United) 9. A. Young (R.S.A.) 19. defeated L. Mercer (Greymouth) 18. PAIRS. D. Page (Lyttelton) 17, defeated H. McCorkindale (Karoro) 15.
