NELSON LAND BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Nelson Land Board was held on Thursday, when there were present: Mr P. R. Wilkinson, Commissioner cf Crown Lands (Chairman), and Messrs A. R. Edwards, J. O’Regan, and F. W. Gibbs. Leave of absence was granted to Mr W. Blackadder. An application from G. H. Mulholland for Sect. 52, Block XI, Mokihinui S.D., Area 955 acres, grazing lisence at an annual rental of £2 10s, was granted. The following transfers were approved:—Section 1141, Westport Colliery Area 29.5 perches (C. J. B. McDonald to T. R. Douglas); Section 1101, Town of Westport. Area 22.8 perches (F. J. R. Gibens to C. Sanders); Section 2, Block XV, Takaka S.D. Area 312 acres (State Advances Corporation as Mtgee T. Haywood and G. Haywood, to E. C. J. M. Hailes). Forfeiture of Renewable Lease of Section 1, Block 111, Maruia S.D. Area 517 acres, Cap. Vai, £l3O, A. R. £5 4s (E. F. White), was declined. It was decided to cancel O.L. 1093 of Pt. Section I, Block VII. Mokihinui S.D. Area 30 acres (W. B. Richmond), as at 12/12/37. U was resolved to offer for selection on Renewable Lease at a capital value of £345 weighted with a valuation of improvements of £255, of Sections 12, 13, 36 to 40, Block HI., Hope S.D., and Section 3, Block IV ’ Hope S.D., and Section 1., Block V., Wainui S.D. Area 2301 acres 1 rood 28 perches. . The Board dealt with the following expiries and renewals:— Section 116, Sq. 131, Block IX., Reefton S.D. (W Preen). —Resolved to offer a renewal of lease at an annual rental of £5; Section 1, Township of Blackspoint (Public Trustee in estate of J. White). —Resolved to offer a renewal of lease at an annual rental of 10s; Section 65, Town of Collingwood (Mrs R. J- Scadden).—Resolved to offer a renewal of lease at an annual rental of £1; Section 6, Block VIII., Takaka S.D., (O. G. Goodman). -Resolved to offer a renewal of lease at an annual rental of £l2 2S 6<3 it was decided to reduce to £2 as I from January Ist, 1938, the rental of area of 130 acres in Block 1., Waitapu S.D., (H. A. Bishop). . The Board resolved to (1) rescind resolution of 9/7/1936, and to reduce valuation of improvement to £4O in terms of Section 81 of the Land Act, 1924 and (2) re-offer for selection on Renewable Lease at a capital value of £55 weighted with a valuation for improvements of £4O.
