CAR RUNAWAY

Railwaymen Victims NEW PLYMOUTH, February 11. One man was killed and two others were seriously injured when their car careered out' of control for one hundred yards, finally to turn several semersaults on the Waihi road, Hawera to-night. Charlie Arnold Haylock, railway fireman, single, aged 29, was killed. Those injured are George Webster, railway fireman, who has concussion; and injuries to back and arm; and Allan C. Sim, also a railway fireman, who has concussion, injuries to the back, and abrasions. Both the injured men are unmarried. Late to-night neither was out of danger though Sim' was recovering from the effects of concussion. Both had recovered consciousness. The- car had just passed another vehicle when it skidded off the camber of the road, bumped over the raised crossing, and somersaulted into p telegraph pole.
