(Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) MELBOURNE. September 9. The British Medical Association Congress has opened. It is Hip first British Medical Association Congress held in the Southern Hemisphere. The occasion is also notable for the fact that i.t; brought for the first time to Melbourne the liner Aorangi. which carried a large contingent of doctors Melbourne was selected for the conference because of the Centenary. Further homage, was paid to the city hy the election of a Melbourne doctor, Sir James Barrett, as president for the year. The keynote of the proceedings was a demonstration of the dignity and importance of medicine In modern life.
