(Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, September 9.

A statement that there are approximately 3000 returned soldiers receiving relief in Auckland was made today by the President of the Auckland R.S.A., Mr. J. W. Rendall. A complaint has been received that the R.S.A. was not liberal enough with the funds. It had received £3406 from the Canteen Funds Board and £2410 from the War Funds Council in twelve months. Commenting, Mr. Rendall said there were about 3000 returned men receiving relief and the £6OOO averaged £2 each. If the R.S.A. could be shown how to do more with the money, it would be only too pleased to do it. The Japanese training ship Shintoku Maru sailed from Auckland this afternoon for Kobe, where she is due to arrive in about 50 days. Captain Hayashi, in a farewell message thanked the Government and the public for their mist generous hospitality and expressed anxiety for some opportunity to repay it.
