RAPIDE PLANES ORDERED. (r'er Press Association;. AUCKLAND. AugxiErt 1. Two De Haviland Bapide aeroplanes, purchased in England recently by Cook Strait Airways, Ltd., wi'l be shipped from England by the Rangitata on October 17th, according to advice received by the local agents for the. manufacturers. Air Survey and Transport Coy. Ltd., of Hobsonville. The machines are due to reach Auckland on November 20th, and they will be assembled at' Hobsonville as soon as possib'e after their arrival. The Bap ides are similar to the Tainui plane, in which the Auckland representatives took part in the Centenary Air Race. A TARANAKI PROTEST. NEW PLYMOUTH, August 1. A protest against the exclusion of Palmerston North as a stopping place in the Great Pacific Airways trank service, was made by the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce to-night. The protest is to go to the Transport Board.
