MAN ROBBED OF £400

While in a Faint HASTINGS SENSATION. (Per Press Association) HASTINGS, July 31. A sensational theft, involving the sum of four hundred sterling, was committed by some yet unidentified in Hastings this afternoon, the victim being a man named Dolbel, employed as clerk, by the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board. It is stated that Dolbel came to Hastings from Napier, carrying this large sum in notes and silver, on his way to pay the staff of the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital at Hastings. Dolbel went into a public lavatory in the railway road. He was suddenly overcome by faintness. It would seem that he went into a complete faint, and was overcome some time. When Dolbel regained consciousness the money had gone. Dolbel at once reported the theft to the Hastings police, who now have the matter in hand.
