OPIUM RAIDS. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, May 27. A raid by detectives on a Chinese iaundry on saturdayj. resulted in the seizure of twenty-four tins of opium valued at £5OO found in an attache case. George Fong was charged this morning with dealing in dangerous drugs, and was remanded. CHRISTCHURCH May 27. As a sequel to a police raid, yesterday, fines totalling £132 were impos cd on thirty-two Chinese, charged with •ffenees against the Gaming Act. Young Fong. fruiterer, charge! with being 'the occupier of premises in Madras Street!, and using them as a common gaming house v was fined £5O. Yee Kwong, 65, gardener, was fined £5O for being the owner of the premises and knowingly permitting them to be used as a common gaming hou.-je.
