BALL AT PALACE Record Traffic in London (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, May 14. The London Transport Board in six days during the Jubilee, carried 814 million passengers, nearly two million daily above the normal. Jubilee Day aggregated 12,'06Q000, three million above a normal Monday. The Jubilee ball at Buckingham Palace provided one of t'he most brilliant post-War functions. Their Majesties, surrounded by thirty members of the Royal Family, and foreign Royalties, sat in golden chairs on a crimson velvet dias, watching the guests dancing in the white and gold ballroom. The King was* resplendant in the uniform of a Colonel-in-Chief of the Black Wait eh. He -wore a kilt as did the Prince of Wales as Colonel-in-Chief of the Seaforth Highlanders, and the Duke of York as Earl of Inverness. The Duke of Gloucester wore the uniform of a Hussar, and the Duke of Kent, naval uniform. Everybody wore white gloves. The Queen wore emeralds and diamonds, and the Order of the Garter. Her gown was of aquamarine lace, embroidered with diamante, while the Duchess of York wore cream lacej with silver and gold sequins.

After a. stately ceremonial procession, Their Majesties entered from the white drawing room, the Artillery string band playing the National Anthem. The Royal Family took the floor alone in the first dance.
