FREE AMBULANCE PETROL. WELLINGTON. June 14. Advice that no rebate is to be allowed to the W <‘lling’on Free Ambulance* upon petrol used in the course* of its service, was received from the A'tiug I’ritne Minister. Rt. Hon. Mr The request fur exemption from the tax was made to the Minister last nuenith.. on the grounds that free’ ambulance si rvice was purely humanitarian. and being run solely in the interests of the sick and injured, and was in no sense, a prolit making concern .

WELLNGTON. June 15. The slander action against Siewright w-as continued yesterday, e\idenre in rebuttal of that given by defendant yesterday, being called. His Honor several times questioned the relevancy of the evidence. YOUTHS IN TROUBLE.
CHRISTCHURCH. June 15. Tn the Police Court to-day, three youths, Norval Roderick Patrick Baxter, aged 21; William Philip, aged 18; and a juvenile, pleaded guilty to 24 charges, mostly of burglary. They were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Tn one case the youths admitted i blowing open a safe with stolen gelignite.
