REEFTON NOTES

(Our Own Correspondent.) KEEFTON, March 31. The President of the local Branch of the W.C.T.U., Mrs J. Thompson, has received advice that at the Dominion convention, recently held. Reefton won the banner for the largest increase of membership throughout th 3 Dominion last year. Miss M. McKay, Dominin Organiser, has sent her congratulations to the local Branch upon having won this signal honour. The motto of the W.C.T.U. is ; “For God, Home, and Humanity”, and to learn that a live branch of such a splendid organisation is thus operating with such distinction in Reefton does much to raise the status of the town in the public mind. Well done Reef ton! The following will represent Reef ton in their match against Kamaka on the racecourse when play will commence nt 10 a.m. sharp:—T. C. Hepburn, F. Bonifacio, S. Hunt, J. Lawson, J. Slaf tery, M. Morris, P. Scott, A. Winchester, P. D. Campbell, O. Collins, W. Blom. A good game should be witnessed, as the match is to decide the final for the junior division Don’t forget, lo a.m. sharp.

Mrs J. Callery, of Green Island. Dunedin, is on a visit to Reefton, and is the guest of her sister, Mrs Richdale, Reefton Railway Station. Miss Sinclair from Ballance, is on a visit to her sister, Mrs A. Walker. Cronadun.

Mr A. Thompson, of Mount Somers, paid a visit to Reefton, yesterday. Mr Lu W. Stevens, Director of the School of Mines, has returned to Reefton
