LAKE BRUNNER SPORTS
SATURDAY, MARCH 26. On Saturday, March 26, the Lake Brunner (Moana) Athletic and Aqua tic Club sports will be held at Moana. The programme as advertised in another column, offers great inducement to axemen, and this year’s meeting should eclipse that of last season, which was one of the most successful held by the club. For the Maiden Chop a total stake of £9 is offering, with £6 to first, £2 to second and £1 to third, whilst the Upright Chop, 12in. logs, is worth £lO to the winner, £3 to second and £1 to third. The Moana Handicap Underhand Chop is worth £29, with £2O to the winner, £7 to second, and £2 to third. Kawhaka logs will again be used th if? year. In addition to the axemen’s events, there will be an abundance of post entry events, a. boys’ chop, cycle road iace and boat races on the Lake. Nominations (dose with the Secretary, Mr R. Fitzgerald, on Saturday, March 19.
