BIG RIVER—ROUGH RIVER ROAD. Mr H. E. Holland, M.P., has received the following letter (13/2/32) from the Minister of Public Works: “I have your letter of the 9th February in which you urge that the item of £720 appearing on the Estimates for Big River to Rough River Road, Grey County, be authorised for expenditure. I note the remarks of the Grey County Engineer regarding the suitability of this job for unemployed Blackball men. I may say that with the near approach of the end of the financial year the loading funds available to my Department are limited, but I am now looking into the matter with a view to ascertaining whether or not it will be possible to proceed in the direction indicated in your letter. I shall let you know shortly.”
