A BULL’S EYE
THE ECONOMIST OOMMISION. IS IT IMPARTIAL.? (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, February 18. The ./executive of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. to day, passed a resolution that if the Government is to seek advice and the assistance of commissions to assist in forming its views, it is desirable that suc’n commissions should be impartial. In the case of the economists* committee there seems a doubt whether this principle has been observed, in that (a) the commisson docs not include Professor B. E. Murphy, Senior Professor of Economies in New Zealand and (b) it doos include Professor Copland, who has conducted a lecture tour, in which he has strongly expressed his partisan views.
