MELBOURNE, July 20. At the hides sale competition w: s poor and bidding irregular, except for a few special parcels, which were unchanged. The market generally showed a decline of to 4d. The second shipment of New Zealand bullocks arrived in excellent condition, and was generally admired for uniformity of quality. At the sales odd beasts sold to £4O 10/-, pens sold £2l 10/- to £2B 17/6. The consignment averaged slightly over £26. The estimated average weight was about 8301 b. MELBOURNE, July 20. The Federal House of Representatives has appointed a special committee to inquire into the effects of the operation of the Navigation Act upon Australian trade. SYDNEY, July 20. The four persons accused in connection with the C'oogec murder, have been again remanded for a week.
