N.S.W. WHEAT FAILURE.

POOL IN TROUBLE. OVER STORAGE CHARGES. [A. and N.Z. Cable Association.] SYDNEY. October 11. Representatives of the voluntary Wheat Pool have conferred with the N.S.W. Minister of Agriculture on the basis of the guarantee to be given by the Pool in connection with the rent for silos in view of the danger of a practical failure the crop. The Pool representatives objected to I a condition imposed by the State that (they should guarantee a rent of lid per bushel on eight million bushels, without respect to the amount of wheat actually placed in the silos. They pointed out the crop possibly would not amount to more than thirteen million bushels, in which case the Pool would have to pay rent on about sixty per cent of the total crop, while there was not a prospect of anything like that proportion being put in the silos. They si’.bmift' d alternative proposals, which will be submitted to the Cabinet. Mr Bruxner (Leader of tlie Progressive Party) stated the wheat crop would be a complete failure over most of the North-west. Already the farmers were advertising, offering their wheat crops 10 be eaten off by stock. Even if rain came on now, it would be too late.
