RUGBY RUMPUS. DOMINION CHAIRMAN RESIGNS. WELLINGTON, October 10. A lively discussion took place at a meeting of the Executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union to-night in reference to the chairman’s (Mr Slade) action arranging the recent visit of the V l . ellington team to Auckland. Avheu tlie Northerners won by "4 to i il. The chairman’s action was endorse'!, but a motion was passed to the effect that in future matters of th? kind, steps shonlld be taken to call the committee together. The chairman regarded the motion as a slight on himself, and left, the chair. Later he resumed tlie chair, but stated it was his intention to resign.
