WORKERS’ HISTORIC TASK

The outlook would be dark indeed if within capitalism there had not been created the class that would destroy it and carry civilisation forward to greater achievements and a better day. The proletariat approaches its historic task. The workers are the carriers of civilisation. They arc about to seize the helm of society at which .Capitalism stands ossified. I Through the < fforis of the workers further dev-elopmuai will be achieved. They will be able to materialise those ideals that have haunted the brain of man since the break up of primitive Communism. i It is their mission to make the human race really human, to destroy, for once and all, slavery upon the face ol the earth by guiding society forward out of this dark night of Capitalism into the sunlight of the Communist order. Like all previous ruling classes, the capitalists are reluctant to go. They would tarry yet a while upon the stage and prolong their hour. With all the forces of repression at their command, thev struggle to retain their hold. They gaol! They shoot! They torture! But they are doomed. The workers press on. We answer them with the cry, “Forward, Comrades! Over their united opposition.”
