ANGLO-FRENCH PACT.
RENEWED NEGOTIATIONS. (Received June 6, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, June 5. The London (( Morning Post's” Paris correspondent states: When Lord Balfour took over the British Foreign Of fice, in place of Lord Curzon, he asked France whether she desired to resume conversations regarding the pact between France and Britain. Count St. Aulaire, French Ambassador in London, was taken aback by the suddenness of Lord Balfour’s question. He referred the matter to the Quai d’Orsay, which replied that France was quite prepared to resume the conversations. It is ex pected that M. Poincare and Mr Lloyd George will discuss the matter in London on June 19.
