German official: There is a most inj tense artillery engagement on the coast between Blankart Lake and Poelcappelle. The French unsuccessfully reattacked Draaibank. Eighty I j aeroplanes participated in an aerial i j battle at Zonnebeke and Zandvoorde. ! We brought down three. We captured important ground in the Chaulme I Wood. Four counter-attacks were unsuccessful. Our enemies Jost in Septomber- twentytwo balloons and' 374---aeroplanes. We lost S2 aeroplanes and five balloons.
