GREYMOUTH JOCKEY CLUB
MEETING OF DISTRICT COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the District Committee was held in the Albion Hotel last night. There were present: — Messrs H. J. Bignell (chairman), J. Walton, W. Claughesy, E. M. Sheedy, * R. Dunphy and E. J. Smith. An apology for absence was received from Mr M. Hannan. . A complaint was received from C. George, caretaker of the Greymouth Jockey Club's Coure, at Omoto, re garding C. Hood, licensed trainer. The evidence of Hood and the Caretaker was taken, and after both men had retired the following resolution was passed :— After hearing the evidence of C. Hood, licensed trainer, and J. George, caretaker, the Committee require C. Hood to apologise to the Club officials, and also to J. George, caretaker, and that he be required to put the apology in writing before noon of the following day. Failing to do this that he be not allowed on the Greymouth Racecourse, and rhat he be reported to the District Committee. , On being recalled and informed of .the resolution. Hood expressed his I willingness to apologise. The Chairman said that the : apology would be accepted, but he i pointed out that Hood had placed himself liable to a penalty of I From the Inter-Wanganui Racing Racing Club forwarding programme of Club meeting on December 25th. The programme was approved. J. Wallace, the owner of the l.t'fe Gilt- Edge, was fined £1 for lakmg part in an unregistered meeting, and the names of the horse and owner ' were then removed from the lisquilification list. It was resolved that the Patriotic Committee be informed that a charzp-e of ' 2s 6d would be made for the Club luncheon.
