HOTEL HOURS

A RESTRICTING BILL

(Reed. Q. 30 p.m.) SYDNEY, October 21. In the Assembly Mr Hall gave notice of a Bill restricting hotel hours from eight in the. morning till ten at night, Previously the hours were from six to eleven. It also provides that, instead of bejng allowed to purchase liquor on Good Friday and Christmas Day to consume off the premises the time limit to be four hours on these days, and consumption on the premises. There is much press and public criticism of the Government's ignoring .the Assembly vote in favour of nine o'clock closing, and the futulity of shortening night drinking by an hour only.
