DOUBLE WEDDING.

A very interesting- double wedding took place yesterday afternoon at Cob: den when J. W; Stephens, only son of the late John Stephens, and Mrs Stephens, of Franklyn street was wedr ded to Marion, second daughter of the late James and Catherine Davidson, of Stafford; and J. J. Beardsley ol Moana, to Jane Dayisdon^ sister of the other- bride. Miss Eliza Davidson, sister of the brides; was bridesmaid, and Mr Andrew Davidson, "attended the bridegrooms in the capacity of best man. The brides were dressed in rich navy blue costumes, relieved with cream trimmings, arid "the bridesmaid was attired in cream silk. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. R. Stewart, at the residence of Mr Andrew Davidson. After the knots had been tied, the com- , pany sat down to a sumptuous breakast,* at which the usual toasts were enthusiastically honored. The happy couples, haying- received numerous presents, and the congratulations of all present, left for their respective honeymoons amid .showers of rice.^ of which there seemed a most plentiful supply. . ;
