Yesterday morning a very pretty though quiet wedding was solemnised at the Catholic Church hy the Rev Father Care w, the contracting parties being Mr P P E White of this town and Miss Alice Murray ° f Cobden. The church was well filled wi tn w * fcu friends of the young couple wno lia< * assembled to wish°them hapP inesa and to throw the customary hand ful of rice and the proverbial old slipp el '- Ml ' F. A. Kemple acted as best ma", while the bride was accompanied by Mis Jes s ic Murray (sister of the bride) and Miss May Noble, who '^vbre dresses of violet velvet, trimmed with cream silk and large hats of same trimmed with cream ribbon. The bride looked as charming as a bride well could dressed in a fawn cloth costume with cream silk front and pretty hat to match. The bride wore a handsome gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom, and carried a pretty bouquet of cosmos and flowering asparagus. Both the bride and bridegroom are West Coast natives and deservedly popular. Mr White served hisi apprenticeship in this office, where he is still employed, and throu h his affable and kindly disposition has earned the respect and esteem of a large circle of friends. After partaking of a most enjoyable repast at the residence of the bride's mother the happy couple with a number of guests, jvent for n drive and subsequently took train for Totara Flat where they will spend their honeymoon. The wedding presents were numerous and valuable.
