Police Constable Victor Austin Hill, who was arrested the other day on a charge of having stolen L 6 from the per son of George Jones, was brought up at the S M Court to-day. During the clay three witnesses for the prosecution gave evidence, and the case was adjourued till Monday, when there are several more witnesses. The evidence was to the effect ! that Hill was called to take a young man in charge who was behaving in such a manner as to the belief that he was afterwards committed to the asylum. It is averred that while the man was in his charge Hill took L 6 out of prisoner's .pocket book and returned it to the unfortunate man's sister minus the money.
