The condiiions in which the Nazi prisoners live are described by an Austrian, Dr. Robert Rohrne, who was released from Frankfort prison after fourteen months.' lie broke down when reunited with his English wife and two young daughters at Dover. Dr. Ed oh me was sentenced to eighteen months’ imprisonment for “grossly insulting remarks’’ about llerr Hitler and the Gorman Government. “The food is undatable,” he said. ‘lt is mostly rotten potatoes, and also four ounces of black bread daily. Convicts are permitted a visitor one? in six months. The greater part of my imprisonment was without conversation, because talk is forbidden \inder pain of more rigorous confinement . and a diet of bread and water. li you want to find a gentleman in Germany to-day you have to go to the prisons. because all the gentlemen are there.”
