The Prince of Wales, broadcasting in connection with the Jubilee fund, said that over a million boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 16 years were without opportunities for games and self-development, to which they were entitled and which the trust aimed to provide. Subscriptions and offers cf help already had been received from every corner of the Empire and United States. Contributions addressed to St James’ Palace were permitted port free until Alay 6. Tho Jubilee Trust’s morning mail contained thousands of letters posted immediately after the Prince's broadcast. One opened at random contained a cheque for £’l6oo.
